Montgomery County Standing Orders, Part 2

The District Courts and County Courts of Montgomery County have automatic orders that go into effect for every divorce suit and every suit affecting the parent-child relationship filed in Montgomery County. These automatic orders are court orders and if either party violates one or more of the automatic orders they risk being found in contempt of court.

The second automatic order of the Montgomery County Courts is “Protection of Family Pets or Companion Animals.” Specifically, both parties to the lawsuit are ordered to refrain from harming, threatening, interfering with the care, custody, or control of a pet or companion animal that is possessed by a person protected by the standing orders or by a member of the family or household of a person protected by the standing orders.

We will continue reviewing the automatic orders in the next post. If you need assistance enforcing or modifying a court order in connection with your divorce speak with a The Woodlands Divorce Attorney today.
